This Cookie Policy explains how WrongLK uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Your choice comes first

When you first visit, a banner asks what you allow. You can accept everything, reject everything, or choose category by category. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, and whatever you choose is applied wherever in the world you are, and remembered for future visits.

Strictly necessary cookies are always active and are not covered by your choice.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom-left of every page, or this link: Open cookie preferences.

How the blocking works

This site uses Google Consent Mode. A consent signal is emitted by our server, ahead of the Google tags themselves, and the tags obey it.

• In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: analytics and advertising storage are set to denied before any tag loads. No analytics or advertising cookie is written until you consent. If you never consent, it stays denied.
• Elsewhere: tags may load on your first page view, so an analytics or advertising cookie can be set before you have answered the banner. As soon as you make a choice it is applied, and it is remembered for subsequent visits. If you reject, the banner also deletes the Google analytics and advertising cookies it can see, so they do not persist.

We apply the stricter behaviour to the regions where data protection law requires consent before storage. If you are outside those regions and would prefer the same treatment, reject in the banner and clear your cookies once; your rejection is then honoured on every later visit.

Needed to run the site and to remember your privacy choice. These do not require consent, and cannot be switched off.

2. Preferences & functionality — consent required

Remembers optional settings such as display preferences. If you sign in with Google, g_state is used to remember the state of that sign-in prompt.

The site’s own language switch is not covered by this category. It is listed under strictly necessary above, because it stores nothing until you press it and does no more than deliver the page in the language you asked for.

3. Statistics — consent required

Google Analytics 4, so we can see which articles are read. Not set unless you allow Statistics.

4. Marketing — consent required

Other third-party connections

Some resources load from third parties even without cookies. Your IP address is necessarily visible to them in order to deliver the content:

• Cloudflare — serves and protects the whole site.
• Automattic (i0.wp.com, c0.wp.com) — image and asset delivery.
• Gravatar (secure.gravatar.com) — profile images next to comments.
• Google Fonts / Google APIs — where used by the theme.
• Google reCAPTCHA — spam protection for the contact form. Loads on all pages and receives your IP address and interaction data. Used on the basis of our legitimate interest in blocking abuse, not consent.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Your browser can also block or delete cookies. Note that browser settings are a supplement to — not a substitute for — the choice you make in our banner, and blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working. Deleting the wlk_consent cookie will cause the banner to ask you again.
